Hi Gerard

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

However, this isn't a forum for finding missing people or relatives.

Please take a moment to read our guidelines for posting

http://www.rootschat.com/help/posting_guide.php

In accordance with those policies, the names of potentially living people have been removed as has your personal email address.

We do have a topic which contains hints and tips which might help.

Other chatters who come along may be able to offer more help but only in a general way, not specifics.

Have you attempted to find out where and when in Scotland your Father worked?

Have you looked for births on Scotlands' people?  http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Just to add to Chempat's link to Scotlands People site for Scottish BMDs. You can register for free and do general searches to see if anything shows. It only costs credits to view search results and images online.

The birth of your half brother and sister could have been registered under either your father's surname (if he acknoledged paternity and went along to the Registrar's office to register births) or under the woman's maiden surname. You have that surname, hopefully therefore you should be able to find some clues from the index.

You are outside of the period where birth certs can be viewed online (there is a 100 yr rule for privacy) and all birth registrations currently from 1915 (next year added each year) need to be ordered.

Hi Gerard,
As you have been told with this hobby we only look for dead people, and for many things in the UK the 100 years rule applies ,you have some valuable information and as Chempat has said you could look up those records yourself,I hope you find what you are looking for.
