Hello,
I can only see transcripts of Scottish censuses but I notice these records which may/not be of any help.

1841 Old Machar

Elizabeth Marshall 60 yrs.
Mary Marshall 30 yrs
Margt Marshall 35 yrs

All born Ireland
Could Elizabeth be your Betsey?

1851 Old Machar

Mary Marshall 38 yrs b ‘Neury, Ardugh’ Ireland
Joseph Sharp 6 yrs son b Old Machar

I would think birthplace could be Newry, Armagh perhaps.

Heywood

Scotlandspeople has this death in the OPR -
Elizabeth Marshall , no age , Old Machar Aberdeen.
Date - 13th MAY 1845
Parents/other details - Hamilton / Geo. Marshall

Would it be worth trying to trace a death for the Mary Marshall(age 38) on the 1851 Census  :-\

Thanks ev, that looks very interesting.
I did try to look for Joseph Sharp too but don’t have access to SP.

There seems to be more than one thread about this family so it is confusing at times to see what has been contributed and what is relevant.
I think I did link this to a different thread.
graduation has acknowledged my post though so hope they see your additional news. :)
