No I said Margaret young was john turnbull's wife not Richards

I also think John and Richard may be brothers  or a very close cousins

This weekend I might pop into ancrum cemetery and check the stone of Richard,s wife Isabella the mi write up i found doesn't read right it only about 10 mins down the road

yes confusing, the sri death for john in 1855 has margaret young his wife, and margaret young as his mother, richard turnbull as his father

I have the complete mi for our william, isabella davidson, richard and isabella turnbull in ancrum cemetery plus photos

enjoy your visit to ancrum!

If you search online for Southernknowe Studio,Causewayend,Ancrum, you will locate the family home which Richard's and Isabella's son Walter built, it housed several of our families until 1904 I believe, my great grandfather grew up there.

It must be very late your way, so I will bid you Good Night. Yes a tree with many twists and turns, ten years ago we had no idea my mum had such a past. I wish I could tour Ancrum someday.
Cheers,Jim

Popped down to the cemetery this afternoon, but time & weather has taken its toll on the sandstone - the stone is very worn

If anything else turns up with you richard I'll keep you posted
