National Registration Files 1940
« on: Wednesday 07 October 15 23:03 BST (UK) »
Every person over the age of 16 residing in Canada as of 1940 was required to register and carry a registration card with them at all times during the war years.  These very informative files are held by Statistics Canada.  Information re these files is found at:

http://www5.statcan.gc.ca/olc-cel/olc.action?lang=en&ObjId=93C0006&ObjType=22

The underlined word "order" takes you to the page where you can order a search for a file of an individual who has been dead for at least 20 years or who was born at least 110 years ago.
