Ayreshire family
« on: Friday 09 October 15 19:23 BST (UK) »
I am currently hunting for any information concerning my great, great, great ancestors an Elizabeth Parker, 1832,from Ayrshire Scotland, married to James Robinson 1831 from Durham, England.  They would have been married around 1850.  Three of their children were also born in Ayrshire. Mary Robinson,16/8/1858, Martha Robinson,1861 and Jane Robinson,1864.  I am not even sure if this is the right place to ask this, this is my first post, but if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.  Thank you in advance.

Yes, the above 2 posts are of the family I was inquiring about.  I can trace them in Durham, but I have proof that Elizabeth Parker was born in Ayrshire Scotland.  I am unable to get any further than the census when they lived in Durham.  I am trying to find them when they were in Scotland.  I do not have the city or township.  Hopefully this added info help.  Thanks.

Have you used Scotland's people to look for more information about them?

Hi Maala and welcome to Rootschat,

There is a birth on Familysearch of a Martha Hutcheson Robinson to a James Robinson and Elizabeth Park at Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire on 27 Aug 1860  ???
Could this be young Martha?

Looby :)

I searched Scotland's People.
There were no births for Mary, Martha or Jane Robinson in Ayrshire within the years provided.

I searched from 1855- 1870 and cross referenced with Family Search
All other Robinson births in Ayrshire had different parents

I too could not find the births in Scotland!!

I see that a few trees on Ancestry show wife as Elizabeth Parker but nothing to substantiate where the information has come from.   How do you know that Elizabeth's name was Parker?

(I found a James Robertson married to an Elizabeth Parker but he was a cotton weaver).

Something just not right.
