He came to London, Eltham which is South London

OK SO HERE GOES

There will be a few ups and downs here along the way . . .

So, By 1918 Christopher had gone to Eltham.

Googling shows that there was a munitions factory there and this is where he went to work.

As I mentioned before, men often went to Britain or the US to get work, full with the intention of once settled, bringing their family over.

So, Jane and her children were taken into the workhouse while Christopher was gone (interestingly Jane gave his name as BERNARD).

I will just refer to Jane for now.

6th November 1918 she died in the Workhouse RIP

Next I am on to Mary Agnes McDonnell

By 1918 she is known as Mary ELLEN McDonnell.

She was taken into the Workhouse with her Mum Jane.

3rd September 1919 she was released from the Workhouse.

Nearly one year after her Mum's death.

I shall keep looking to see if there is more for her.

In 1912 Christopher and Jane had a daughter called Agnes McDonnell.

Here is her birth.

3rd September 1919 Agnes was released from the Workhouse, nearly one year after her Mum Jane's death.
