Highweek All Saints, Look Up - HAYES
« on: Wednesday 14 October 15 20:41 BST (UK) »
Hello there,

I am wondering (and hopeful) that someone in the Highweek area can check some graves for me at All Saints Churchyard.

If so, I have a location for one ancestor and will love a photo of his gravestone. I am also expecting his family to be buried close by.

Here are the details:

Location - Section M, Row VII (7), Number 3
TWP HAYES 1941 - Thomas William Patrick Hayes d. 2 Feb 1941

His wife is probably buried here also: Mary (Molly) Hayes d. 7 May 1953

His sister-in-law may also be buried close by: Marjorie (Madge) Halliday (she may have got married though) d. Between 1945-1950

I have contacted the church for details of his wife and sister in law, however I am uncertain that they wish to assist me. Plus photos of their resting places will be beautiful. I wish I am able to get there myself to find them and to be with them.

If anyone can assist me I will be ever so grateful.
Thank you for reading my request

I've now found out that Mary Hayes was buried with her husband.

So if anyone is near to Highweek, Newton Abbot...and is able to visit the churchyard please let me know. And a huge thank you !

Hi,
I can photograph the gravestones for you, but I'm new to the Forum. How do I get the photos to you?
Tess

Hey there Tess,

A big thank you for your very kind and appreciative offer to help me out.

You can click on my profile and then click on 'send PM'. In there you may be able to attach them, otherwise I can PM you back with my email address. Let me know if you need further details...there will be a combo grave for Thomas William Patrick Hayes and Mary Hayes. Location: Secton M, Row 7, Number 3. From the car park if you go to the left of the church, you will be in the right area. (I've been sent a plan of the churchyard, if you need this let me know in your PM to me.) Please have a look to see if there are other graves next door which may be the same family.

Thank you sooooo much.
AJ

I might get there over the weekend - if it ever stops raining! It's why Devon is so green
