Grandmother & Great Grandfather families - Walker
« on: Wednesday 21 October 15 15:36 BST (UK) »
I am currently stumped trying to trace details of my grandmother's parents, her name was Margaret Walker nee Morris (b1900), and her address on the marriage certificate to Frederick Walker dated Sept 1924, was 160 Phythian Street, Kensington Liverpool. Her father, who was deceased at the time of her marriage was named as John Morris.
I am also seeking information ref my great grandfathers parents. He was Walter Walker (b.1875) and resided at 58 Exley Street Kensington, Liverpool. I am a member of Ancestry and have come up against a wall. Hope somebody can help in some way.

Here is one possible for her, but there are other Margaret Morrises bn around 1900

1901
75 Priory Drove Liverpool
John Morris 27 cotton porter
Martha 24
Margaret 1     all bn Liverpool

modified - this cant be the right one, as this John Morris does not die till 1941, as a WW11 civilian death. Widow Martha Emily (which is the Martha shown above)
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex

Regarding Walter Walker. Where did you get his date of birth from? Where was he born? indeed, when and where was son Frederick born? Have you found Frederick on a census with his father? Occupations?

Although father was deceased at time of the marriage did it give his occupation?

Have you found Margaret on 1911 stating where born as sometimes the 1911 gives more informed places (specifics) rather than just counties.

Thanks for the reply folks, The information I know, is that Fred + Margaret were married at Christ Church, Kensington Liverpool Sept 13th 1924. Margarets father was listed as Fireman on his death.

I found a Margaret Morris living at 16 Severn Street 1911 (mother listed as Martha Emily) (census) but am waiting on confirmation as to whether it is the right one. Fred was born about 1900. Fred and Margaret were living at 40 Penton Street when my mother was born in Feb 1925.

Thanks forte, that could be possible, Empire Street is in the locality of the family residencies of that time. I will look into that further.

The John who was husband of MArtha Emily died in WW11, as per previous replies.

So if he was deceased by 1924, it cant be him.

Unless there are two John Morrises who both married Martha Emilys.
