birth of Edwin Calloway Jones in N Carolina around 1847.

Looking for any info on this man, such as who his parents were & when he died.   He married Louisa Crissy someone & on the 1900 census she was living with some of her children in Kickapoo, Oklahoma & was widowed, so he died before 1900.  On her son Harmon's WW1 draft Card he gives his mother's surname as Glenn so she must have remarried.

I agree and note that the marriage location was Jackson County,  IL.

In the 1880/1900 censuses Louisa's mother's POB is listed as Tennessee, father Canada/Vermont?

This would be Louisa in the 1870 census with her family they are living in  Murphysboro, Jackson, IL. Her father name is not Calvin, it was transcribed wrong (see Image). It should be Edwin.

Here is Louisa in the 1860 census. She is listed by her middle (first?) name Crissa. Parents born in Vermont and Tennessee.

I believe this to be Edwin with his family in the 1870 census. They are living in Kincaid, Jackson, IL. Edwin is listed as Edward. Kincaid is around 5 miles from Murphysboro. Both are in Jackson County

On his Social Security application, it looks like Harmon Clinton Jones gave his parents' names as Edmond C. Jones and Crissie L. Campbell.

Thank you both so much for all the wonderful info, much appreciated.  I've learned a lot more re the family.

I was trying to find that Edwin/Edmund/ Edward had a Welsh father but so far no luck.    Is it possible to go back even further & see who George W Jones father was please?
