His marriage shows him just as Ernest, is the additional name from Arthurs birth certificate   :-\

Do you have Arthur and his mother in 1911 - was Ernest in the Army

Hi Rosie I only have a copy of Arthurs birth certificate which was requested in 1972 and only has Arthurs details on, no parents listed.

On Ernests marriage cert his profession is soldier and his resisdence at time of marriage was The Barracks Tauton.
Couldnt fiind them on the 1911 census.
Thanks Sarah

It looks as if Ernest's mother, Lucy, died after 1871.
The names David Samuel Jones and Sarah Ann Ravenscroft appear on the same page Sept 1874 Birmingham. She was present in household in 1871, and Ernest is with them in 1881.

1911 census - can't give details, but Elizabeth (31) and Arthur (3) appear in Dorchester.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Ernest Edgar's parents David Samuel Jones, 26, Draper (son of David Jones, Clerk Curate of Nantdda (?), married Lucy Walker 19/7/1863 St. Philip, Birmingham (dau. of William Walker).

Looks like Lucy died Mar.qtr.1873 Birmingham.

1851 Census - Brecon St. David, Breconshire - ref. HO107 - 2489 - 495 - 2

David Jones    57     Officiating Minister (another word I can't read) born Llangan, Breconshire
Elizabeth Jones  45                        born Dixton, Monmouthshire
David S. Jones  14                         born Llansonluth, Breconshire
John F. Jones 5                                       ditto
Elizabeth Jones 4                                     ditto

How exact all these place names are I've no idea as not familiar with Welsh placenames.

Hi,

from later censuses, Dixton is ok but Llangan should read as Llanfeugan and Llansonluth as Llanhamlach

David Samuel Jones' parents, David Jones & Elizabeth Watkins were married 18 July 1835 at Llanhamlach
