Help request
« on: Wednesday 28 October 15 23:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi guys, hoping someone can help me break down a few walls.
Can someone please identify where my great grandparents annie garner, b 1866, d June 1928, Wolverhampton and Robert Wilson born 1864, d 1937 dec 17 wolverhampton are buried? I visited merridale cemetery office, checked st marys church records and the Wolverhampton archive index without any luck yet.
Supposedly a portrait of the hangman Samuel haywood was in possession of the midlands haywood family up till the 1920's, does anyone know if it still exists?
Can anyone find a marriage date for john(jack) kingdon born 1856 Barnstaple and Elizabeth jane Johns, (maiden name Limebear or limebeer) b 1854,barnstaple. They're already married and on the Barnstaple census by 1881.
Anyone know when bridget calnan b 1835 Ireland and james Fitzpatrick b 1837 Ireland die? they were married in London, june 1861 and had children including mary ann b 1864 Glamorgan, James born Middlesex 1867 and Maurice 1868. they moved to wales by 1871.
I recently subscribed to FindMyPast and can find a birth date for Thomas j kingdon b 1928 Swansea, but not a death date. Extended family members say he died around 1966 but cant find him on freebdm.
Thanks for any help. best.

Are you mixing up Elizabeth Jane Limebeer who married Richard Johns in 1899?  Could she be the Elizabeth Jane Kingdon shown on the 1881 census entry?

Sorry, im an idiot, I just rechecked my notes and remembered Elizabeth jane kingdons daughter was the one who married richard johns. The Elizabeth jane kingdon I'm after was born Elizabeth jane morrish 1854 Barnstaple and married john limbear or limebeer in Swansea, 1874 and had daughter Elizabeth jane limebear in 1875. Then he died or divorced and Elizabeth limebear(morrish) married my great great granddad John Kingdon and had children Sidney, bruce, john, George in Barnstaple. Sorry again.

Elizabeth jane morrish 1854 Barnstaple and married john limbear or limebeer in Swansea, 1874

That marriage shows her as Elizabeth Morris

No death between 1874-1881 for John Limebeer unless he was a seaman and died at sea.

If he was still alive in 1881 then there could be no marriage to Kingdon

Hi Matt ,
Did you ever find a pic of Sam Haywood the Georgian/Early Victorian Hangman for Leics/Derbys/Notts ? He was my GGGG-Grandfather , his G-granddaughter Priscilla was my Great-Grandmother. She married James Kirkland of Measham/Oakthorpe , a descendant of the celebrated Dr Kirkland of Ashby de la Zouch. Richard Felix the TV historian ran an exhibition about Sam at Derby Gaol Museum a few years ago that I missed by just days. I met another descendant by pure accident when looking for Kirkland family graves in Measham. Not aware of any picture. He died 1848 of flu so not a photo , prob not important enough to be painted. Engraving ? Sketch ? His grandson was John Haywood , a much respected Methodist Lay Preacher in Oakthorpe.
