Does anyone have any information about the above couple who moved to Alderney later in life? Many thanks in anticipation.

If you look on freeBMD
there is a marriage for William H T Tayleur 1932 Surrey
and a marriage 1945 Middlesex

Maybe the first marriage ended in divorce?
It looks like 1st wife remarried 1941 in Gloucester

William Henry T Tayleur birth reg Sept 1906 Martley Worcs 6c 237

Maybe if you added a few dates to your post someone may be able to help with Alderney records

That is indeed the correct WHT Tayleur who married a Marguerite in 1945. I understand they moved to Alderney but I have no specific dates other than it might have been around the 1950/1970 period. I'm trying to tie up a few loose ends and can't seem to find any Alderney records anywhere! Help.

You could try The Alderney Society but I don't know if they'd have anything that recent, maybe rates books. If either of them died there they may have death records or if not could point you in the right direction.

William Henry & margeurite A are on electoral roll in Highgate Hornsey until at least 1965 -so that narrows down the Alderney search a little

Many thanks to all who responded. I'll maybe try contacting Alderney Society after checking those electoral rolls.

Hi

I'm John Tayleur, b 1948, eldest son of WHT & MA Tayleur; I have a younger brother, WHB Tayleur.
My mother & father lived in Highgate, London from about 1944 until they retired to Alderney in about 1971; my brother stayed on in Highgate for many years
We first visited Alderney in 1950 (my brother & I were babies), & they bought the house I now still live in in 1954.
I always regarded Alderney as home, and after I left school in about 1966 I stayed here, although I was at sea for many years.
Both my parents died in Alderney, my father in 1992, my mother in 1993.
I hope this helps
John
