Translation German to English
« on: Sunday 01 November 15 10:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Is there anyone who can help me. I was sent a link to an ancestors death certificate. Problem is it written in German and is not in a format where I can cut and paste then use google translate. I am anxious to get the details. For example I can make out name of his wife Friederica and nephew Bernardus...I would like to know cause of death, where he was living who survived him etc. if those details are recorded. Here is a link to the certificate.

Fingers crossed..someone can help!

Sabine Thank you so much for doing the translation it confirms some additional information - I'm very grateful. Greetings from here in Northampton (though my real home town is Liverpool - why did Hamburg and Liverpool not twin their cities...Beatles connection.

I'm going to be a tad cheeky do you have access to any parish records - I'm trying to trace the same William Joseph's marriage record to Friederica Memel probably abt 1810 (most likely Cologne - and they were catholic) we know they had a son Bernard from the death cert...I believe he was named after William's father. I would like to know if they had other children, I know they had a child Raphael William Imhoff born about 1823 - it was he who came to England. William Joseph Imhoff worked extensively at Cologne Cathedral as a sculptor so I guess he lived close to there - if that helps.

Take Care

Peter

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry, but I am only able to translate such old documents. Whilst I am searching for my own familiy I am actually learning to read the old german "Kurrent" script. So I was able to read and to translate most of your document.

I have no better access to other documents than you, I'm sorry. This evening I have been visited by a friend who was accidently born in Cologne, but he also wasn't able to identify the full name of the street in Cologne where Wilhelm died.

I wish you a good luck to gain further informations  :) :). Is there anything to translate, I will be happy to help again.

Take care

Sabine
