Two of the same name in the same area.
« on: Monday 02 November 15 13:50 GMT (UK) »
Hello again, I'm completely stuck on trying to find out if and who a certain Herbert Ward married in Lincoln. Looking through, I found two HWs both in Lincoln who married in 1916 and 1922. Both have kids, nine and two respectively.

Maybe you will have to get the certs, to see what fathers names are.

Is there anything else you know about "your" Herbert? Do you know if he had children?

Do the spouses names (Emily G Featherstone 1916 nine children, Frances Willers 1922 two children) add up?

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Hi,

Can't see any more information online for the 1922 marriage but  here are two from 1916

Herbert Ward, born 1883, & Emily Gunhilda Featherston married 1916 Nocton, Lincolnshire.  His father was William John Ward

Herbert Ward, born 1886, & Ethel Turner married 1 Oct 1916 Horncastle, Lincolnshire.  His father was Jesse Ward

No idea.

Most of my family on that side broke up/fell out during the 70s/80s to my knowledge, leaving all that I know to be about the "main branch", and Herbert doesn't fall into that. As it is, I only know a tiny bit about one person of that generation.

So you don't know who his parents were? Can you tell us anything more about the one person of his generation please

What you showed me before is funny because his father was William Ward (1858), but the age gap of seven years seems a little too much.

Herbert was born on 23 Nov 1889, in Wickenby, often not distinguished from Lincoln. The only one I've ever personally known about his his sister in law, Rose Flatters.

This looks like them, Peter:

1915 - Rose Flatters married George William Ward (recorded birth year 1887) His father was William Ward, mother Louisa Jeffrey.  From the censuses GW Ward’s siblings include Louisa born ~1884; Herbert born ~1890 and Charles born ~1896
