Hi, trying to find possible crew or immigration details/dates from England to NZ for Arthur Robert Edwards B Sept 1891 W/Ham (Stratford ?). Parents Robert William Edwards and Matilda (Perrett).
Maybe he just jumped ship and walked slap bang into onset of WWI whilst in NZ. He signed Attestation 10th Aug 1914 in Wellington NZ, Service No. 3/16 occupation City Council Wgtn. Discharge papers give occupation as SAILOR/Tram driver (NZ). He eventually married and then settled in Melbourne Australia working again as a Tram driver. Hope you have better luck than me.
Cheers

A R Edwards , aged 22 , of 2 Chadwell Ave , Chadwell Heath , signed on on 10th Feb 1913 in London , to sail on the ship Rotorua to New Zealand. His previous ship was the Persia in 1912.He signed on again for the next voyage on Rotorua in July 1913.

( I see that his Army papers give next of kin as his father at a Chadwell Avenue address ).

Edit : In one of your other posts you mention having a WW sub to FindMyPast - you can find the above details there . )

Hi CB53, thankyou for your prompt reply and yes I do have a sub for FindMyPast but obviously still learning. Going by those dates given you tend to wonder the reasoning behind his discharge or jumping ship to then sign on in the NZ Army. Either way he served both countries. Thanks again.
Cheers
