Halifax Courier archives

Does anyone have access to the Halifax Courier Archives?  I am looking for an obituary from 1939 or 1940.  The woman in question was Lillian (or Lilian) Nettleton who died aged 53 or 54.  She was born Lillian Garside and was married to David Brenton Nettleton, an auctioneer and valuer.  In 1939 they lived at 158 Dudwell Lane, Halifax.  Lillian may have committed suicide.

This will narrow down the date a bit- death certificate will give exact date, place and cause of death. In the case of suicides sometimes the family didn't put in a newspaper announcement.

DEATH: Lillian Nettleton, age 54, Oct./Dec.1939 Halifax district volume 9a page 1291

Added-
Probate record gives date of death as 28 Oct.1939 which should help narrow down newspaper search.

Thank you very much indeed for your help.  Lillian was half-sister to my great-grandfather.  She and David Nettleton didn't have any children, as far as I know.  I suppose I'll never find out why she kilkled herself.  It's interesting that the report says she was found dead at home on a Saturday night.  I wonder where David was.
