Hi, hoping someone can help me with information on my GGGGG grandmother, she was Mary Swan from Rothbury and I believe her father may have been John. She married Robert Charlton of Horton Grange he was a Husbandman they had a son in 1786 Robert Jr. Would love to find out anything more on her and her family, thank you.

FreeReg has quite a few records for Rothbury.
http://freereg2.freereg.org.uk/
There is a Mary daughter of John baptised on 3rd July 1760 and another one baptised on 28th August 1765 which suggests the first Mary may have died.
Edit - yes there is a Mary daughter of John buried on 8th August 1760.
There is also a daughter Margaret bapt. 9th September 1761 with the same father.

Is this Robert Jnr?

Baptism;
St Nicholas, Cramlington, Northumberland
ROBERT Charlton, 14 May 1786
Parents ROBERT/MARY
Abode Cramlington

On Census he is married to a JANE, living in Durham.

Or do I have the wrong Robert?

Also a Tree has Robert/Mary having a Daug 1821 who marries Charles Robert Ward 1843 in Norfolk.
But this Eleanor is unm in 1851 and living with her Parents.

A Eleanor Charlton did marry Charles Ward 1843 but is with her Husband/ Children in 1851 in Great Yarmouth;
Charles Ward, 31, Mariner
Eleanor Ward, 27, born Newcastle, Cornwall!
George Ward, 6
Charles Ward, 5
James Ward, 1

1861 she is born Durham;
Ellenor Ward, 36, Master Mariners Wife
Edward Ward, 12
James C Ward, 11
William R Ward, 5
Ellen C Ward,1

So easy for Trees to go wrong if they dont check everything and buy M/C's

Sorry for the sidetrack :)
