Hut Barracks Pembroke Dock
« on: Thursday 14 July 05 14:50 BST (UK) »
I found a C. Bailey, soldier, born 1842 listed on the 1861. I don't see any reference as to a regiment number or such on the census. From internet research I'm guessing could be 2nd Pembroke Dock Rifle Corps or 15th Royal Artillary but really don't know. Need to know if I can find information on deserters from this group. Looking for a Charles Bailey of this age who deserted sometime before 1867.  Thanks for any advice you can offer. Your previous help allowed me to eliminate another Charles Bailey, sailor, that I was considering! Thanks again,
Dorothy

Thanks so much for the info.  That site regarding Researching Army Ancestors before WWI is very helpful! I'm in the States and it's hard to know where to begin.  Thanks again-
