Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

The entry on the Passenger List for 10th Nov. 1914 is puzzling. The Patrick Hagan listed is "with" Eugene Reilly, John Reilly and Edward Minna, all from Carrigallen, which is a small place today, back then would have been even smaller, even counting the surrounding townlands. I think they might have been relatives.

I see Patrick Hagan listed below these folks on the New York Passenger List, but Patrick is age 21, which is pretty far off from a birth year of 1880/1881.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JJ3H-1MR  If you can get an exact or close to exact birth date for him, that might help.

Yes, the poster has been informed a few times that the mother of this Patrick was Ann, not Catherine!

And as you say.... Patrick Hagan listed below these folks on the New York Passenger List, but Patrick is age 21, which is pretty far off from a birth year of 1880/1881

So, most probably a different Patrick!

Based off this information:
Quote
Born 1880/81? Married to Anna Maria (nee Reilly). I have the 1901 and 1911 Census for him. He left for the States when his son James Joseph (my husband's father) was very young and was never seen again. James Joseph received a fob watch from Patrick with the inscription "To J.J.  from Daddy 1928". My FIL knew nothing about him.

Here is the birth of the son which gives actual residence as  Drumderglin (in district of Carrigallen)

And the family in 1911 in Drumderglin

 - and here is a 1926 passenger list for a Patrick Hagan whose last residence was "Dromderglin"
wife, listed only as Mrs P Hagan, at home in Dromderglin, Canngallen (sp!), Leitrim, a cousin, Michael Kenny, of  136 Fisher Ave, White Plains, NY, as his contact in the US. Never previously in the US.

The closest I can find for him in the 1930 US census would be this man, listing himself as married but family not with him:
