I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who has information about William John Arthur Rowland, born 25 Jan 1925 in Nottingham, Derbyshire and died Mar 1970 in Salisbury, Wiltshire.  His parents were William Connolly Rowland and Beatrice Hignett.

I can see on freeBMD that his parents married in Nottingham in 1918, and there are no other births listed to this couple (at least with these exact surname spellings). William John Arthur's birth is listed as Nottingham (not Derbyshire).

Are you wanting to look back at his family or to try to get more info about William himself?

Thank you for the welcome and your reply!  I want to learn more about William J A Rowland himself, and if he had any siblings.  Records are much harder to find for him.  I concur with the information you provided, and that I have the same information as well.  I also found a probate record for William's father, William Connolly Rowland, showing that William J A Rowland was a Sergeant in the RAF at the time of his father's death in 1955.  I cannot find military records for William (I have tried various avenues) and need to learn more about his time in the service.  Would you know how I can get in contact with the family, or where I should look to obtain these records?  I would also like to see an obituary for him but cannot find one of those, either.  There are no postings on find-a-grave.  Was he married?  Where was he employed?  Yes, many questions about him I do have.  Thank you for listening!

Have you applied for a copy of his Father's will?

I have done neither and wasn't sure if someone already had hence the post.  I am not in Great Britain, so am unaware of the procedures to request either document.  I was hoping for an obit in the Salisbury area but haven't been successful with the papers on Britishnewspaperarchives.
