May 15 1970 in Benningen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) on Mar 29 1913 in a civil ceremony. A church wedding was performed on Mar 30 1913, prob. in Benningen. They celebrated their 50th ‘Golden’ wedding anniversary on Mar 31 1963 in Benningen. His parents are Andreas Kaess (1824-1896) and Johanna Caroline Lang (1850-1932), both from Benningen. Friedrich Emil Kaess worked as a shipbuilder on the Orinoco River in South America and eventually returned to Germany where he lived out the rest of his days in Benningen. In a 'familienregister', he is mentioned as having visited Buenos Aires in 1923. Trained Carpenter. Mentioned as ‘Master Carpenter.’ Anna Bertha worked as a maid in Ludwigsburg. Friedrich Emil Kaes and Anna Berta Falkenecker had 4 children together: Emil, Berta Freida, Paul, & Lina Elsa. A family photo from the 1960's shows Friedrich Emil Kaess and Anna Berta Kaess in a group photo with Kaess family members, including Gerd Edwin Kaess. Ursula Kaess says her Grandfather was named Emil Friedrich Kaess. His name as Friedrich Emil Kaess was confirmed by Claudia Blumhardt, a Lutheran Parish secretary in Heutingsheim. Emil Friedrich Kaess may have been a rufname or ‘preferred name’ for Emil Friedrich Kaess. Anna Berta Falkenecker was known as ‘Berta ‘ to her family. They may have also been grape-growers.
