Lookup please: Lillian Coulson & William Davies - marriage Q1 1921, Newcastle UT

Hello folks,

is anyone in a position to view a cert for the marriage of this couple?

I am particularly looking for the name of the bride's father, which would be proof that I have identified the right Lilian Coulson.

In England and Wales it simply isn't possible to view a certificate - they have to bought and paid for!

A Parish Register entry would help; but of course, they may have married in a Register Office?

All I have is that they were married in Newcastle 'mar' 1921 (FreeBMD), had a son 'dec' 1921.

William Frederick Davies born Newcastle 1898. (FindMyPast but not FreeBMD).
Appears in the 1911 census (Heaton, Newcastle), not yet found in the 1901 census.

FamilySearch provides a Lilian Davies born Aug 10 1901, dies 1976 in Aylesbury.
The same lady appears in 1939 in Greenwich.
However there is no guarantee that this is the
Lilian Coulson who married in Newcastle.

My intention is to verify (or disprove) that all of these records point to the same Lilian Coulson born in South Shields in Q3.

Newcastle upon Tyne was a pretty large Registration District, containing many churches, Anglican and non-conformist.

As KG has said, you would need to know at which church they married in order for someone to do a look-up. - assuming that they weren't married at a Register office.

By the way, the name of the bride as shown on freeBMD was Lily Coulson, not Lilian

Acknowledged that Newcastle is a huge population centre with many churches etc.

Or start by buying that marriage certificate?!

Cost is £9.25 from GRO - and that includes worldwide postage & packing.
Seems a small price to pay to get a clue?
