This one is very close to the one I have. Mine doesn't have Holy Bible on the front cover. The title page is very slightly different, however the photo on Ebay isn't clear. I'll take a few photos of mine and see if that helps any

The problem I see is that  a fairly typical design...down to the gold leaf pages and ribbon bookmark. Would be very difficult to guess an age just on that alone.

But you never know :)

Are there any writings inside to narrow down a time?

What would I be looking for? I did upload a few photos. Did they show up because I can't find them anywhere?

Well over your limit. About 5 mb each as they were taken with my camera. I'll have to reduce resolution and repost

From the writing on the inner leaf I would say the Bible would be later than 1895.

The information about birth and death and the note to ''Sandra'' is in the same writing - so logically after 1951. You can see Sandra has written her name in a childlike style.

The first piece of writing looks also to be in a childs hand. As your G-Grandfather was born 1886 I would conclude written around 9 years of age - once again on style.

So I would go with a figure near the turn of the century and agree that the "HIS" refers to the original patronage.

Hi David,

The hand writing at the very top (that has been crossed out) is my Nana's (G Grandmothers).

The note to Sandra was written by her mother (my Grandmother) soon after Grandad Cooks death.

Mum has written the name "Cook" after the word "Grandad".

The last piece of writing at a guess would be by Sandra as that was their address when they first moved to Muswellbrook and it looks "child Like". She was around 9 when my G Grandfather died.
