1851 Census - PATCHING
« on: Friday 15 July 05 06:11 BST (UK) »
Hello Everyone.  Greetings from Queensland, Australia!
Does anyone have access to the 1851 Census for Patching - I'm trying to trace the following family:-
BUTCHER, JAMES (b.1776?) occ. Wheelwright.
"               MARTHA (b.1768?)
"               BENJAMIN (b.1813?) occ. Labourer.
"               CATHERINE (b.1810?)
"               PRISCILLA (b.1836?)
"               BENJAMIN (b.1838?)
"               WILLIAM (b.1843?)                   (All born County Sussex)
In 1841 Census the family was living at Patching St., Patching.
In 1861 Census they were at Manchester Rd., Poplar, MDX.  The Tower Hamlets area seems to be where WILLIAM settled.
:)  Any help is much appreciated.    :)

Sorry that no-one has replied but as far as I know the 1851 for Patching has not been indexed so that means someone searching the actual film.   You should be able to do that yourself - even in Australia I think - if you are anywhere near an LDS centre.   They are listed on the familysearch site.
Sorry not to be able to help.   If anyone knows that it is indexed perhaps they could say so?

:) Thank you Andrea for your reply.
Yes, I should be able to order in the 1851 Patching Census through the local LDS.  I'll see what happens.
