Hi all
Can anyone please find this chap in 1871? I can't!
Here's what I know ...

Name:   William BUMBY
Father:   Thomas BUMBE (1798-1823)
Mother:   Hannah YOUNG (1798-1885)
      
Birth
1820 Brompton by Sawdon, York

Baptism
1 Sep 1820, All Saints, Brompton by Sawdon, York (He was baptised Bumbe but the name always appears as Bumby)

Occupation
In 1851 William was a bricklayer; by 1861 a railway labourer; in 1881 he was an agricultural labourer.

Marriages/Children
1. Jane *BUMBY (1826-    )
Marriage   Dec Q 1862 (about age 42)   St. Peter & St. Paul, Pickering, York (She is Jane Grey or Jane Nares; don't know which.)

Residences
30 Mar 1851 (about age 31) with his mother and her new family; Brompton by Sawdon, York1
7 Apr 1861 (about age 41)   with William Hodgson and his wife; Ewe Hill, West Side, Farndale, York2
3 Apr 1881 (about age 61)   Bridge Street, Great Ayton, York

Death
Dec Q 1885 (about age 65)   Stokesley, York

I haven't looked at 1871 yet.

However, Yorkshirebmd show that William married Jane Nares at St Peter & St Paul, Ryedale.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
