Charley Wilfred Fuggle
« on: Tuesday 01 December 15 20:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

I am trying to find out where Charley was for the 1911 Census and what he was doing before he joined his Royal Horse Artillery regiment and went off to war.

He was born in 1895 in Tunstall, Kent  and lived in Sittingbourne.  His parents ran the Maypole Inn Borden.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to do look ups from the 1911 census due to copyright issues.

He is easily found on the Findmypast version of the census. Buy a few credits or take the free 14 day trial.

He didn't serve in a Royal Horse Artillery regiment as the OP writes.  He served with the Royal Field Artillery and was with 242 Brigade when he died in action in March 1918.

PS for the record, the Royal Horse Artillery (RHA) and the Royal Field Artillery (RFA) were both administered by a single record office that is written as "Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery" or RH and RFA which often confuses.
I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe
