Hello,
Not very often I see Modreeny!
Well, Modreeny is a few miles from Cloughjordan, my Grandfather is buried at the old Church of Ireland.
I will search for your names and come back to you.
Hodgins had a shop in the town.
I will be back soon

Thank you so much. I pulled up the map and it was helpful. I know my family was from Modreeny but also found references to Nenagh and Cloughjordan. Some relatives may have also moved to Cork before moving to Lucan, Ontario, Canada with Colonel Hodgins.

Juddy,
The IGI has Philip Crawley and Susan Culbert marrying c.1868 in Biddulph Twp., Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada.  I have nothing else on them, but if you have more, I'd be interested.
Go to this site to contribute info.: http://culbert.one-name.net/getperson.php?personID=I14583&tree=Culbert
How are you related to them?

JHCulbert,
Phillip/Susan are my gg grandparents. My father's maternal great grandparents. Their daughter Sarah married Sam Hodgins and they had 11 children in Lucan, Ontario. My grandmother was one of their youngest children. I have pictures of Sarah and Samuel along with a number of their children.
Sarah is very beautiful.

Hi,
I am back, can I just confirm that George's Mother was Maria Stoney.
Also did George marry lady called Lavina?
If this is correct, George was Baptised in Terryglass in 1815 by the Rev Stoney.
I am not sure when the Modreeny Church was built but I know the Terryglas Church was built in the 1700.
In the Tithe records George is the Modreeny Parish in a place called Garavalla, town land name is Ballygribbon. This is on the back road from Cloughjordan to Nenagh.
Let me know this info about Maria and I will tell you more.

George Longworth Hodgins ( brother john b) 1806)  married Nancy Ellen (Annie) Hill  b)1805 d) 1866
I believe Georges father was William b) 1765 d) 1856 in Modreeny and mother was Elenor Revington Atkinson b) 1768 or 1770 d) 1871 Ashley Astates, Tipperary.
I was told that most of the family was buried in Modreeny. Is there a Church of Ireland there and what is its name?
Thank you for your help. I do appreciate it.
