Hello,
Can anyone help me regarding Robert Swindells, born 28/04/1850 in Hadfield. He married Anne Dearnaley whose family tree is well researched but I don't know who Robert's parents were. I also have an occupation for him of Company House Keeper in Oldham. What does this mean?
His son Alfred was landlord of several Oldham pubs but there is a gap in his licensee life for the years of 1918 - 1923 which I am endeavouring to discover.
Here's hoping ???

I've looked at your post twice now as I have Mary Dearnley 1769 Hadfield who married John Swindells 1787 St Michael, Mottram in Longdendale. I must have a look at the familytree,dearnley.com and see where your Anne fits, but I can't see any relationship at the moment. I have found the Swindells difficult, cb

Is a Company House Keeper a pub landlord???
