How do I go about finding the death of someone between 1980 onwards.
A friends father died in Australia, she has no idea on date or location, only has his name (they were parted at birth)

Thank you so much, I may of found him in Toowoomba under the Ryerson index, name has a slight change.
How can we progress from there to make sure it is the right man?

What year and which newspaper has the death you are trying to confirm? There may be gaps that need to be looked up manually on microfilm.

If it was the Toowoomba Chronicle in June or August 1992, by any chance, I may already have it on file. 

Or, if it is 2015 it can be accessed via PressReader through NLA website for anyone with an NLA card. (like me and probably CupofLife too)
