looking for my father. .. help would be appreciated! !!!
« on: Wednesday 16 December 15 12:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,
haven't seen my dad since I was born almost 45 years ago, I'm sure he'd be 70+ now ,he was friends with my uncle Albert Dainter they were both in the army and served in borneo. My mom and him met whilst he was on leave with my uncle, things didn't work out and I haven't seen him since. My mom and uncle have both since died and I remember maybe 35 years ago my mom being in contact with his wife so I could meet him, but he wasn't keen.
I know his names P Owen and that he was from Tamworth but that's about it.
He might well of died, I don't know but it would be nice to know either way.
thanks in advance for any help.
David  ::)

Dear David

Welcome to RootsChat, we are a family history forum that researches the ancestry of our normally long deceased family members.

To increase the chances of finding distant family connections anything posted is viewable across the internet which is great for making connections but not in any connection to folk who maybe living as often the details given are sensitive information. To protect people and their identities we do not encourage the posting of information about people who are or maybe still living. Moderators may edit your post to remove sensitive information.

Please have a look at this link which gives some guidance on researching living folk, that may help with your search.

Hi David

We cannot communicate [ openly ] online on Rootschat because your relatives may be alive and the local Rootschat rules say we cannot talk openly of living people.

If you post again (twice, total of 3x) (you only need to post "understand, thanks", then those who want to point you in a specific direction can use the Personal Message (pm) system to talk to you.
