Hi, welcome to RootsChat  :)

The site is not used  for "Living People" searches, you may find some helpful advice here tho'
You will also need to remove the names of any people who are, or could be living.

Welcome to rootschat  from me too :) it's a forum full of knowledgeable & helpful people.

However rootschat is a site where we help others to find ancestors, not living relatives. As Frank says, people who may be living cannot be named. You can remove your mother's name [if she is still living] by using the 'modify' button at the top right of your post [only you the poster can see this button]

There is a personal messaging facility [pm] on rootschat where personal information & information on living people can be exchanged as it is not on the public forum - once you have made 2 more posts here you will be able to make & receive pms.

Dear Incasmum

Welcome to RootsChat, we are a family history forum that researches the ancestry of our normally long deceased family members.

To increase the chances of finding distant family connections anything posted is viewable across the internet which is great for making connections but not in any connection to folk who maybe living as often the details given are sensitive information. To protect people and their identities we do not encourage the posting of information about people who are or maybe still living. I have just edited your post to remove this sensitive information.

Please have a look at the links which gives some guidance on researching living folk, that may help with your search.

Wishing you the best of Luck with your research.

Regards

Sarah :)
