McVeety`s of Manchester
« on: Thursday 17 December 15 10:11 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor was William McVeety (bC1792 in Donegal) who married Elizabeth (also referred to as Isabella) Spencer.  They left Ireland to settle in Ancoats (Manchester) some time between 1836 & 1841.  According to census records their children (including Isabella, my 2x great-grandmother) were born in widely scattered places such as Carlow, Galway & Roscommon.  Does anyone have any info on William in Ireland before he came to Manchester?  One suggestion is that he came from Inishmacsaint.  His wife Elizabeth Spencer may have come from Drumholm (Donegal).  Also any suggestions as regards his occupation/lifestyle suggested by the family`s frequent re-location in Ireland between 1820 & 1836?
