My understanding is that the Fox Inn was moved about 300 yards down the road to the end of the Parish soon after 1900, when the owner of the Manor had a number of buildings close to the Manor demolished.

I believe it became owned by Hall & Co., another Oxford brewery, and remained open until the late 1950s, when it was finally closed and became a private house, which it currently is.

George Swift was at the Fox Inn by 1899, according to Kelly's Directory
(in 1891 he had been at The Trooper in Buckingham).

It was still there in 1911, under his widow Mary Jane (née Carpenter).
I assume he was the one whose death was registered in Buckingham in the 1st quarter of 1907.
She may be the one who died in the 2nd quarter of 1917; neither of them appears to have left a will.
