Blackhall Co Tyrone
« on: Thursday 17 December 15 22:21 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the Blackhall family who lived in Ardboe Co. Tyrone c1800.   It appears that the name originates in the north of England on the border of Scotland.   I am wondering if the family moved to Ireland during the plantations.    William Blackhall's (a soldier in the 14th Light Dragoons) wife was Margaret.   In 1834 he left the army and moved to Wales where he married again.   I am looking for the death of Margaret.   They had a daughter Susan (Susannah).   Does the spelling of Susannah mean that she was christened in a R.C. church?

The name Susannah (or any variation) wasn't limited to any particular denomination.
If you think the family were R.C. then you could see if the parish records are online for the period you need.
