Firefox and the Rootschat Toolbar
« on: Sunday 20 December 15 07:12 GMT (UK) »
Hello Friends

Firefox updated itself on my Toshiba Laptop running Windows 8.1. That would be OK but they did not reinstall my Rootschat Toolbar which I love. So handy.

I tried reinstalling the Toolbar this afternoon but Firefox is preventing me from doing so saying the toolbar is corrupt.

Now this does seem to be nonsense, so do you have any good ideas please.

Very best wishes for the festive season

Pelican

Thanks. I found it.

What a shame, it seems that the new Firefox does not support it.  I am going to miss it.

Best wishes

This latest version of FFox has implemented some more stringent checking of AddOns / Toolbars et al ..... overkill in many cases ..

Open a new Browser Tab and type about:config in the Address Bar ... confirm you want to go ahead to the warning prompt ...

Then scroll right down almost to the end, looking for:-

xpinstall.signatures.required;true

Double click this entry and it will change to  ;false

Close the Tab and go into Addons etc where you will be able to restart your Toolbar ...

Ran into a minor problem as I have duck duck go on there. Pretty minor, but I thought as I intend to go to Windows 10 after Christmas I will leave until then and do all the things I have to do together. Sorting out a list of things I may well have to do!! Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!!!
