Baptism request--CARTER, Edwin J

I am looking for the Baptism date for Edwin J Carter.  He was born about 1811 in Devonshire.  His parents are John Carter (b. 1779) and Jane Ash (b. 1782).  Family has said that he was born in White Church Parish, but I came across a note from a Vicar in 1949 saying they have no Carters listed.  I'm back to the drawing board. 

What else do I know? His parents were married in 1807 in St. Mary, Lawnceston, Cornwall.  Sister Helen was born in 1814 in Walkhampton, Devonshire and later baptized 1822 in Tavistock, Devonshire.

The 1841 census has his birth year as 1816.
