Johnston Morton
« on: Saturday 26 December 15 18:06 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I am searching for a relative, Johnston Morton born 1825 Longford to Edward Morton, who is thought to be a sergeant in the Irish Constabulary, although no record seems to exist for this name. Does any one know of a resource to confirm the birth and the military career of Edward Morton?
Johnston Morton married Clarinda Gellately in 1845 in Clonmel but his whereabouts are a mystery until his first born in Birkenhead in 1860. Any help would be very much appreciated
Morton - Tipperary, Longford/Clonmel Ireland
Gallatley - Ireland,
Brownbill - Liverpool, Prescot
Burberry - Dorking
Bonnyman - Elgin/Buckie/St Albans

Just to note the following baptism on the 19 June 1855 in the RC parish of SS Peter & Paul, Clonmel...

John, son of Johnson Morton and Clara Greatly, Margaret Dillon the sponsor (4th entry up from bottom):
