Tracing a living relation
« on: Sunday 27 December 15 17:47 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace a relation, (*) was born in 1965 at Acle, Norfolk.
She has a brother and a sister, but (*) was adopted and her whereabouts or adoptive name are unknown.
The Salvation army do not apparently check for people so I have been informed, any other ideas folks ?, perhaps someone may know of her ?
regards

Sorry, just saw on another thread that we may not enquire about a person living.

Rootschat isn't a forum for tracing living, or possibly living people, so we aren't allowed to post details or post requests for such information.

The Salvation Army will help trace relatives but not people who have been adopted and official channels might only assist close relatives. Have you looked at the links in the HELP pages here on Rootschat for ideas of what else you could try?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

As she was adopted her surname at least will have been changed and she may not even know her original name. There are sites where adopted children and parents who gave their children up for adoption can register, but I don't know whether this includes other family members.

Good luck.
