WILLIAM WEBSTER b1858 married ANN PROUDFOOT b1857
« on: Monday 28 December 15 22:06 GMT (UK) »
HELP REQUIRED PLEASE.

WILLIAM WEBSTER - Trying to trace his Mother and Father. Think father was born in HULL around 1822 and MOTHER (possibly ALICE) somewhere in SCOTLAND around 1834 (maiden name would be helpful if my assumptions are correct).

ANN PROUDFOOT - Trying to trace Mother (probably CAROLINE, found on 1891 Sunderland census return) and Father (no clues found to date), ANN was a servant in the Webster household and seems to have had a child by the Head of the House's son. They later married. When searching for her mother the only other information I came across referred to some form of institution in Sunderland. Again a maiden name for CAROLINE would be helpful.

Any information would be appreciated to enable me to continue my search.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this posting

Jim Webster

What are the names of the fathers on the marriage certificate?

I'm admittedly somewhat confused, because you say things like you think William's father was born in Hull and that Ann was a servant in the Webster household and that you want information on William's father, but don't give a name for him.

Where does this information come from? If you tell us all you know it prevents people from repeating it and also gives us more of a starting point.

Webster, William
Proudfoot, Ann

Possible birth?
December qtr 1855

William Webster is too common a name to be able to spot a birth registration?!

Unfortunately there won't be one as he was born about 1832, before registration was introduced.
