my father in law would love to find his half sister, but sadly has no name to search with! they shared the same father, leslie poulton born 21st dec 1913 in west brom staff, he died in 1974 west brom staff. he married my father in laws mother, sarah bertha bird in dec 1935, they had two sons, charles brian poulton and terry poulton. leslie left the family after the war, and set up home with a woman maybe married her bigamsly! as he never divourced sarah bertha bird. He had a daughter with this woman and my father in law would dearly love to meet her before he dies, if anyone can help me with this story i would be very grateful.

There are quite a few Poulton births in W. Brom after 1945, but she may have been registered in her mother's name if they weren't married.

Who registered Leslie's death, are there any clues on that?

Have you tried a letter to a local newspaper, that might get some results?

If no one in the family has a copy of his death certificate you can get one from the General Register Office for £9.25. You need to fill in the form and quote the reference above.

we have now found this lady, thanks to everyone. the help ive been given has been wonderful. but we are trying to find a barry poulton, maybe from the same area, father leslie poulton 1913-1974. im afraid thats all we know.thanks.
