Desperately Seeking Taylors
« on: Friday 08 January 16 00:02 GMT (UK) »
HI Anybody and Everybody  :)

All my Life with little knowledge because I was kept in the dark when my nana died (Mary Hardy Nee Taylor) in the UK 1963 when I was 10yrs.  I miss her so much and always have.  My family was a fractured family after her death, and even though I can see her, I never knew she was Scottish until some decade ago.

Mary Taylor was the daughter of Henry & Annie Taylor married in 1919 Bridgeton., Annie died in 1939 at the age of 41yrs via Self administered coal poisoning,, I do not know what happened to Henry born 1896, he was alive in 1939, he signed Death Cert ,.  Annie Taylor, was formerly  Annie Duffy and her father was called William Duffy deceased Mary Duffy both deceased according to Annie's Death Cert..
Mary Taylor,  born 1920, according to records Henry and Annie lived 18 Glasgow road, Cambuslang Mary married my grandfather Charles E Hardy from the UK where she resided until her early death in 1973 at the age of 53.  My nana Mary Hardy Nee Taylor I remember had a relative called Nancy & Rea, lived in Huddersfield all connected to Mary Hardy nee Taylor.. I am stuck at Mary Hardy, and Annie Taylor, Henry Taylor oh if there is anyone who can help me find myself and let my spirit know I know who she is now and where she came from would be my lifetime of missing her. I so hope someone somewhere will help me find my peace..  These are the only proof my nana is connected to Henry & Annie, yet I cannot find any mention Census of Mary, or anything around that time that she existed??  but she did because she was born 12th May 1920 and married my granddad Charlie as he was known to me, in Bridgeton Glasgow on their marriage cert and hold her death Cert, I know is was troubling times pre 1939 and read many records,  some are not released, but if I could find a ray of hope somewhere to show me she existed, would be amazing.

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

Some of the information you are looking for might be fairly recent and not available online, other bits might be available on Scotland's People website (pay per view). The latest available Scottish census is 1911 so if Mary was born after that you will not get her on any census.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
