Barnaby & Pratt - Suffolk/Norfolk - moved to Gateshead - family mystery
« on: Thursday 14 January 16 22:15 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I am looking for information regarding a William Barnaby of Metfield, Suffolk 1880 and Charlotte Pratt of Stalham, Norfolk 1881 - who both moved to Gateshead and married in 1906.Would be interested in any relatives of these individuals and possible answers as to why they moved to Gateshead?
Perhaps anyone knows if Barnaby/Pratt are still common names in Suffolk and Norfolk?
Many thanks,
Jenny.

Hi,
Interested in their ancestries, Gateshead family history is clearer than Norfolk/Suffolk history. Would like to develop Norfolk/Suffolk genealogy.
Thanks.

Have you checked the 1881 census for William to establish his parents etc.  Charlotte's birth was registered June qtr 1881 so probably born after the census was taken

Here's the 1891 for Charlotte so you can then trace the family back on the 1881 and the 1871 census.  Link to 1871 is here

1891 for Stalham Norfolk.  All born there unless shown otherwise

If you check freebmd - William's birth was registered as William John Barnaby but he married as John William Barnaby
