Baptism and marriage kookup request
« on: Friday 15 January 16 12:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I've put these requests on the Northants board but was advised to also put them on here because they concern Keyston.

Can anyone find the baptism of the following 2 people for me?

John Peak-date not known but he married in Keyston in 1748 so if it was his 1st marriage then perhaps he may have been born c 1726/7.He might be from Barnwell but I thought he may possibly be from Keyston as he married there.

Richard Wallitt-again d.o.b not known.only info on him is a child of his was baptised in Keyston in 1727.

Also.
I need the details of the marriage of John Peak to Susannah Wallett/Wallitt-Keyston-16th May 1748.
esp if they were married before and if they were of the parish.

Many thanks,
Trisha

The Hunts. marriage licence index:
http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/directory_record/4160/marriage_licences
shows Jno. Peake of Barnwell, Northants with Su. Wallit at Keyston.
Cambridge Archives should be able to supply a copy of the marriage bond, which may give you a little more information.

John and Susannah don't seem to have been buried at Barnwell, but possibly they are these two at nearby Oundle?

John Peake aged 71   2 December 1777
Susanna Peake aged 86 12 February 1811

If you subscribe to Ancestry, you will find the  1749 will of Richard Wallit of 'Kayton' on the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills database. He names a daughter, "Susanna the wife of John Peake".

There is also a  1794 will of Richard Wallitt of Oundle, possibly Susannah's brother. Both wills mention relatives named Nunnale - a Mary Wallit/Wallet married Luke Nunnale/Nunnaly at St Mary and St Benedict, Huntingdon in 1730.  This marriage also appears on the Hunts. marriage licence index.

Hi,
thanks for all that info which is very useful.
Unfortunately I cannot afford to subscribe to Ancestry a fact which makes all of this much harder to do.

Many thanks,
Trisha

Before 1754 you're lucky to get any detail other than the names of the bride and groom.

Keyston baptisms and marriages are on the IGI at www.familysearch.org where you'll find two earlier children of Richard and Susanna Wallett. In addition Ancestry shows they also baptised a Wingfield on 30 Jan 1713, which if he was their eldest son and they followed the traditional naming pattern, might be significant as a Winfeild Wallett baptised a child in 1716 at Bluntisham, which whilst not exactly close to Keyston is in Hunts. And Winfield is not a common first name.

There is no baptism index for Hunts
