Well so far I haven't found anything much of use to you in the book, as it deals mainly with the Evans family, and various farming families. I will continue to look through but it is predominantly about the ancestors of Tommy Evans and various off-shoots.
I have found one Jones of Trecastle who might or might not be of interest to you, although this was from my own notes, rather than from Roots & Branches.
We lived in Bear House in Trecastle and I did a bit of research when we lived there about people who had lived in the house over the years. In the title deeds there is information that in 1841 Bear House was occupied by Thomas Jones, who was a stonemason. He didn't own the house, he rented it from the leaseholder, Daniel Thomas, who lived further up the lane at Loggin Cottage. I think he sold newspapers, amongst other things.
When we lived in Bear House, there were loads of pieces of carved stone in the garden, things which had been made by Thomas Jones. There was a half-finished gravestone, a cherub without a head and all sorts of odds and ends. I suspect they are still there. There are two houses between Bear House and Loggin Terrace so as you can see, if your Jones family lived in Loggin Terrace, they would be close to The Bear.
