Joseph William Jones
« on: Saturday 16 January 16 23:15 GMT (UK) »
My grandfather, Joseph William Jones, died on 18th May 1941, after being knocked down, by a 'Dumper Truck' whilst working on the construction of the Royal Ordnance Factory, Burleigh Road, Reading, Berkshire. I have his death certificate and a copy of the Coroner's Report inquiring into the circumstances of his death. Does anyone have any other information regarding his death, or where I might look for more. I'm writing to the Reading Chronicle and Reading Post, but, at the moment I don't know if they were publishing at that time. Does anyone know if you can get police reports about such matters
Joseph

Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking but would your Grandfather be the same Joseph William Jones who was married to Lilian Page or Pagh, and whose children include my Grandmother Doris (Dolly) Ethel Jones, who married Frank Green in 1943?
My father and aunt have been trying to trace her as they have had no contact with her since they were fostered out while young. My apologies if not the same person. I hope you find the information you are looking for. Kind regards, Sharon Grove

Oh wow, yes he's my great Grandfather! Born 1880 and married to Lilian. They had 2 sons, Charles Richard 25/10/1910 and Christopher John Jones 11/07/1915. The daughters were as follows: Lilian G Jones bn 1911, Grace Mary Ann Jones 25/11/1911, Ivy Lillian Jones 17/02/13, my nan Doris Ethel jONES 24/12/1920, Edith J Jones bn 1923 and Eileen V Jones bn 1928. I have some other info regarding some of their marriages and if they had children. My father is the surviving son of Doris and Frank Green, my Uncle Ray sadly passed away in 2012. My Aunt Pam is their daughter. So if this Joseph is your Grandfather that would make you my dad's cousin? Thank you  :)

Oops sorry Rosie, I should have noticed it was not he who had replied.
Would you mind if I asked if you were related too?. I'm just so excited to maybe piece together my dad's family.
