Improve and date please Mary Ann Howarth 1866 -1937

Mary Ann Howarth 1866 -1937. She looks young, could it be her marriage in 1885? Is there any significance to the to the fur rug and or book or picture in her hands ?

Mid 1880s so 1885 would be right.

However this is a very odd scan and we can't even see the rug or the whatever she is holding. Does the original look like this??
