William Ward HANNANT - Help
« on: Wednesday 20 January 16 01:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am researching the HANNANT family and I have now reached a point of confusion with William Ward HANNANT. There is so much information that my "little grey cells" are not lining up any more as Poirot would say. Does anyone have any definitive information on William, his family and forebears that you could share with me. I am happy to share all the information I have to date (back to 1526) but that could change dramatically with what I learn about William and especially his parents.
regards
Daryl

Some extra information would help! ;D

Like dates?
And what your stumbling block actually is?

There are lots of RootsChatters willing to help - they don't need to have a link to that family.
So, please give us the information to work on ;D

Hello Daryl,
Does your William Ward Hannant (born 1768 - died 1843) have 8 children? Is his wife Sarah Smith?

As for stumbling blocks.

A good example is shown in one of the responses to my request. I have William born in 1776 yet MrsWheelie_1979 (Janice?) has him born in 1768 but we both have him dying in the same year 1843 and with the same number of children.

Hi Claire

Thank you for the feedback. I have that William as the brother of William Ward. Their other siblings are: Elizabeth, Hannah and Maray.

What is your source for this exact date?

Have you asked her where she has seen this year of birth?  Online family trees?  Is there an exact date and source?  If not then ignore it.

Do you have a record of burial for this child?

William is aged 65 on the 1841 census and looking at other entries, the ennumerator appears to have followed the instructions for rounding down adult ages.  William could have been aged anywhere between 65 to 69.

Hello Dundee
The first place I got the basic information was from the 1841 England Census. See attached.
As for the definite birth date. A few years ago, I sent all my documentation off to a relative who was going to take this further for me. Unfortunately that did not happen and I have now lost that and so I am starting it up again. All I had left was a large spreadsheet with the details from the documents/searches I had done. I cannot remember where I got everything I have. (signs of old age I think. If you are interested I can send that privately as this site does not accept .xls files. I have no positive information for the entries from William Ward back.
