Richard Moors ArrowBrook,Cheshire
« on: Wednesday 20 January 16 04:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for an ancestor named Richard Moors. All I have is that he was married to a Grace Jones in 1751 and residence is listed as ArrowBrook in Bebington Parish.I believe this actually might be near Greasby because that is where his children were born.
Thanks

Hi Mojo47, Bebington and Greasby are approx 9.5 miles apart. It is feasible that he moved to Greasby. It is not however in the same parish as Bebington.

The marriage licence for Richard Moore or Moores to marry Grace Jones in 1751 is available to view on Find my Past and gives further information. It could be that Richard is of Greasby but marries Grace in Bebington as that is where she is living.

Hi

According to Familysearch https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F3LG-44W the marriage was at St Andrew, Bebington  Does the Parish Register entry actually say ArrowBrook in the Parish of Bebington? Or does it just say ArrowBrook.
It may be Arrowe Brook Farm which is still there today, http://www.arrowebrookfarm.com/

Hi all,

The wedding was in Bebington but under additional(Cheshire Parish registers database) it has ArrowBrook. As the children were born in Greasby I assumed it must be part of Bebington Parish.
I have just looked at the originals on the find my past site and there is no mention of ArrowBrook.Where the database got this I don't know but it seems to tie in somehow.Any ideas?
Still stuck finding Richard,
A burial for Grace appears in Bebington also but not Richard?
Any ideas?

I can't see on the Cheshire Register Project any mention of Arrowbrook in the marriage transcript
It is however stated as additional info on the burial record for Grace.
Grace Moors WI of Richard Moors 10 June 1796.
Perhaps that is where you saw it?

Hi,

Apologies,you're right!
It was on Grace Jones Burial.Does this mean she was buried in Bebington but lived near Greasby or is there another ArrowBrook in Bebington?
Her husband was listed as husbandsman(farmer). If it was in fact the ArroweBrook farm that still exists, that would be amazing!
I can't find any trace in the area for Richard before his marriage.Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you

Have you seen the marriage licence? I think Richard may have been married before.
