Looking for my dad who I've not seen for 36yrs

I'm trying to find my dad Removed norton I was about 7 last time I saw him I'm now 43 He came over from Ireland and married my mum Sheila (Ikin) norton in 1971 sadly my mum passed away just over 2yrs ago

Do you know your father's parents names? This might help track him to where they lived.

If they are deceased then we can post their names here.

I would order your mothers wedding details/certificate. This should give you more evidence. Then come back and tell us his parents names.

Then we might be able to tell you where to put messages on the internet to help find him.

FreeBMD does not carry the marriage, indeed, nothing at all  (yet) for Crewe for that quarter

Hi, Yvonnewendy. The marriage details that Ray found are recorded slightly differently on the GRO index. the reference number is however the same. If you search for Sheila Ikin marriage and then look at the typed index it is very difficult to differentiate between her spouse surname being Norton Or Horton due to the typeface. It has been transcribed on Ancestry as Horton. However if you search for marriage of Removed Norton it comes up as NORTON and is very clear on the typed index. Maybe too much ink in the typewriter ribbon!!!!!

Sorry I'm not up with all this technology I no my dad come from Donigall Wexford in Ireland he moved to Crewe in the 60's he worked on building sites around Crewe and married my mum in November/December 1971 in Crewe register office  He apparently moved to Derby area after leaving my mum

Have you tried 192.com......electoral roll (use only surname & Derby)

Edit Ages on roll may help tracing

Extra info. costs credits but worth a try.
