has anyone come across the surname Gretia in Hampshire/ Isle of Wight?

I've found a monumental inscription relating to an Elizabeth Goater on the Isle of Wight Family History Society website - she's buried at St Swithin's Thorley and additional information gives her as wife of Thomas Goater, gent & daughter of Luke Gretia.

Sounds more like a mistranscription of Lucretia to me.

Do you think so? A lot of parish records seem to list children as daughter / son plus father's name?

Lucretia isn't going to get me very far I fear

There's an Elizabeth daughter of Lucas Gembey  and Elizabeth bap 7 Dec 1638 at Thorley - she might fit.

You could try asking the Isle of Wight Record Office to check the burial records for you :
